Eye Examinations
We are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care to our community here in Castlerea. Our in-depth eye examinations test your vision and eye health using a set of standard tests that your optometrist will explain step by step. Eye examinations are also designed to take care of your individual needs so we will always consider why you came to the optometrist, family histories of eye conditions and other lifestyle factors that may make additional testing or advice necessary.
What To Expect In Your Eye Examination?
Our friendly staff will guide you through the process from the moment you arrive. Your eye examination will be a combination of tests for your vision and tests to assess your vision and screen for conditions like glaucoma and cataracts. You will also be asked some general questions about the medication you may be on or any history of eye conditions in the family. Finally, your optometrist will explain any findings to you. We leave plenty of time for our examinations so if you want to discuss anything with your optometrist you’ll have ample opportunity.
Enhanced Eye Examinations With OCT
With the help of advanced screening tests like OCT, we can provide more detailed assessments of eye health and are more likely to catch eye conditions even in the earliest stages. OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) is a modern retinal photography tool that allows optometrists to examine the different layers of the eye in detail. The scan is completely painless and nonintrusive and provides the most effective eye condition screening available.
Your Eye Health
Taking care of your eyes is not just about protecting your vision. Eye care is an integral part of general health – many conditions are diagnosed through symptoms that appear in the eyes and eye conditions can have serious repercussions for general health. We believe in not only providing our patients with exceptional testing and care but keeping them up-to-date with the best ways to practice good eye care.

If you have diabetes, monitoring your eye health is especially important. We offer screening appointments which involve a test to look for diabetic retinopathy – with this test the condition can be diagnosed before it affects your vision.
